The majority of our ethical Women’s Earrings range is sourced from a great company known as ‘Bio-Trimmings.’ This is how we stock our beautiful Bio-Gem jewellery that is all handmade and crafted from recycled, and recyclable, materials. Each earring set is made unique from the others with beautiful little gems of all colours and sizes in each and every design. These stones are known as ‘Bio-Gems’ and are all fully plant-based, giving excellent connotations! 

Each individual design in the sustainable women’s jewellery range has been painstakingly hand-crafted in order to create a unique and individual earring set every time, with the customer in mind. The Gems and Stones are made from inedible food compounds, mainly sourced from fruits and vegetables, with recycled sterling silver or gold used to present the beautiful stones, as the body to the earring.

What Makes Earrings Vegan?

There are many different factors that can make an Earring or jewellery piece either vegan or cruelty-free. In order to be Vegan, these earrings cannot include materials such as, Silk, Leather, Pearls, Shells, or other materials that come from Animals, certain glues that include beeswax cannot be used either. 

Are Earrings Always Sustainable?

No, not all earrings and other pieces of jewellery are ethically sourced and some can be made from non-sustainable materials. Jewellery could be classed as non-sustainable if the items it is made with has a negative impact on the environment. Crafting earrings from recycled materials is always a great way to ensure that you are being as sustainable as possible. Avoiding animal testing is good practice too. 

What Causes Green Stains From Earrings?

Sometimes these strange marks you see around your ears, especially in the piercing, can be the result of an allergy, but more often than not, these green stains are caused by cheap materials not reacting well with the environment around us. Materials such as copper are likely to oxidize and leave green markings on your skin. This is why we opt to use recycled silver as our main material, to help prevent this from happening.
